Calendar exploration
In 2020 I designed a physical calendar to help me track time. Since then, I've been designing a version each year, and using it to help me organize the present, plan the future and track the past.
The screens presented here are a part of a current exploration to bring the same functionalities of my physical calendar into a digital product.
In this calendar, items (events, tasks or data) look and behave different according to their position in time. Past, present and future events all have their own way of being and they can be compressed or expanded depending on the scale you're working in.
Different scales for different goals
Besides events and data, it is possible to plan your weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly goals. Adding layers of information to each day, and allowing you to stay on top of what you're aiming to do.
Scales of time
One of the main challenges of this concept is to visualize the different scales of time clearly. In this update, I worked on visualizing color coded events in different scales.
For planning, it is possible to see and manipulate events in one screen a full year from the current date, from now until the end of the year, quarter or month. There is also a top bar concept for adding events that last for weeks or months, pretty much a work in progress.
